Re: Smooth
Here's a breakdown shot, you can see you almost get a kind of GI type bounce effect from the lights, the shadows are quite usable to :ok: smooth_sibl_wf.jpg Max screengrab of another lighting setup: smooth_sibl_max_wf.jpg I'm NOT saying any of this works or even looks great, it's just some thoughts ...

Some more sIBL matching tests. I will post my workflow later today, I use a plug-in called Lightbitch for Lightwave that can read in .HDR images and generate a bunch of lights that mimic the image with colour and intensity. You can then export these lights into Max using .FBX Lightbitch plug-in for ...

Re: What can I do to make my hair better?
Hi Bones20, It would help to see some hair model shots in wireframe of polygon mesh mode, just some screen grabs so we can see the structure a bit better. Great start. As Cem said perhaps try some noise in the bump slot, set very faint and very small (experiment) you have to turn off Speed Up (Per V...

Re: wolf new age
Very cool Wolf, I prefer the Wolf and Tiger over the Gorilla, although he is still cool : ) great attention to detail here. Can't wait to see the wolf in motion, and some of those tech shots of the wires and hair mesh structure.

Re: Emaline, scans and sIBL Lighting tests with Hair-Farm
Hi superrune, no this is just using specular. You can add in some specular only lights which adds some cool fake reflection highlights, it's not accurate though and can make the hair sometimes appear to wet.

Re: Male hair in progress
Hi Woody, great start. Perhaps make the beard hair a little shorter and thicker, add some Kink or Spiral effects in there, as well as some very subtle mutant grey colours, so you get one or 2 greys. As well as colour variation, always use it. Also have you used a very small 0.03 noise effect in the ...

Thanks superrune, yes its from Scanned data : )
Hi Dani, Thanks : ) I prefer to use hairbrush but sometimes you can use a combination of them both with an added hairmesh edit on top to refine the shape : )

Re: wolf new age
Hi David, thanks for your kind words. I remember you from the store, thank for your support. How have you found Hair-Farm? was it easy for you to learn? For shots of your hair models you can set your HairModifier WSM at the top of the stack to show the hair model mesh, I just do screen grabs or prin...

Re: Dawson - Scans and lots of Hair-Farm details.
Here are the renders to show off the hair in more detail (I hope) I don't really like posting naked full scale renders but think it's worth it in this case. The eyebrows could have been better but by just adding a few extra strand as a layer above give depth and parallax to the renders and they catc...

Re: Dawson - Scans and lots of Hair-Farm details.
Will do Cem : ) on it now, the Bokeh type DOF tends to blur out allot of the cool details. I should limit it's use, it's the new Lensflare for me!
3d-dade: Yes MR for skin and lit with MR lights. Then I have a standard basic scene with simple shadowmapped lights and then I composite in PS.

Dawson - Scans and lots of Hair-Farm details.
Here is another set of images I made recently when testing out a scan set to 3D models pipeline. I used Hair-Farm all over for skin fuzz, eyebrows, eyelashes, fine, stubble and short hair. (..allot of the hair-farm details are there, they are just hard to notice :ok: ) Dawson-10.jpg Dawson-12_pt.jpg...

Emaline, scans and sIBL Lighting tests with Hair-Farm
Here is a character I have been testing with over the weekend. I setup the base hair style to work well in a simple lighting environment, then I decided to test the character in richer lighting environments using smart IBL sets from http://www.hdrlabs.com So to match the hair for these other lightin...
Re: Wip Girl
Nice start visionmaster2, perhaps try to add some noise to the hair, and some frizz effects or more wisps perhaps.

Hi Cem,
You know my thoughts on this by I will also second what Philipp said.
Hair-Farm is an amazing product and well worth it's weight in Gold.
Cheers,
Lee
