4 Hairstyles
I've been working a lot with hair-farm lately, and now I can show some of the results. I did these hairs for a client. The head was not this one for the job, I had to change it to be able to show the hairstyles, so there may be places where the hairs cross the head or where they are too far away from it, as I just did some very fast tweaks on the head to make it match.
Hope you like them!

Re: 4 Hairstyles
Thanks a lot for your comments!
Sure, I can explain a bit the process, I do more or less the same for any kind of hair. I have a couple of scalps (one more dense than the other) prepared to be placed on the model I want to add hair to. I usually start creating the base layer of hair, usually using 2 or 3 different hair meshes (tipically front and back, or left, right and back if there's a parting) and I work with them till I get the general density and direction of the hairs. I usually create 2 or 3 "hair generates" on each hairmesh to get that effect, changing the modifiers depending on the style, but I use a lot kink, frizz, wisps and clusters.
Once I have that, I add some layers to create the uncombed hairs. I usually duplicate all the base hair objects to add a fist layer of uncombed hairs that follow the main hair direction, but then I add more hairmeshes to create hairs that don't follow that main flow of the hair, or that are specific to some zones (shorter hairs arround the parting, at the edges of the hairline...).
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your comments.
Sorry it took me so long to asnwer, but I couldn't find the moment to take the screenshots. I can show you this hairmesh, it's the blonde one in the last image. I'm not sure I can show the others, as those were done for a client.

Re: 4 Hairstyles
How did you make those curles not to intersect with each other? Is it a spiral modifier or a hand made ones?Woodys3d wrote:I've been working a lot with hair-farm lately, and now I can show some of the results. I did these hairs for a client. Re: 4 Hairstyles
They are hand made, starting from splines, I found that's what gives you best control.Mister3d wrote:How did you make those curles not to intersect with each other? Re: 4 Hairstyles
I don't know, I've never tried animating them. But usually there are 1-3 base hair layers, the other ones are uncombed layers, so if the simulation of multiple hair meshes could cause problems, I guess a solution would be to only simulate the important layers, and make all the uncombed layers move playing with the hair link modifier or something like that.
